New Orleans, Louisiana – Day 2

For our first full day in NOLA we had breakfast at Cafe Fleur-de-lis and visited the New Orleans Pharmacy Museum which was as interesting as it was creepy. We then strolled around the streets for the rest of the morning, popping in and out of various shops. We found a little supermarket where we got some cheese, salami and crackers to make a cheap picnic lunch at our hotel room.

After a little rest under the air-con to escape the midday heat we walked to Jackson Square and got a carriage ride through the streets and into Treme and Marigny quarters. It was quite a unique experience being taken around town by a glitzy horse, and the commentary was great, definitely better than wandering around by yourself.

After the carriage ride we headed to infamous Bourbon Street for dinner and some drinks. Most bars do a 3 for 1 deal which seemed crazy and definitely reminded me a lot of Vegas. Coupled with street drinking no wonder “N’Awlins” is know as such a party city!
