The National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum

On our drive from Oklahoma City to Wichita we made a stop at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. When planning out trip we just thought it might be a good place to stretch our legs and waste a bit of time, but wow were we blown away when we got inside! I have to say this is one of the most amazing museums I have ever been to, and we enjoyed our time here so much we ended up spending an entire morning.

One of my favourite things was the artwork, I never considered myself much of an art lover but I was mesmerised by some of the pieces and could have spent all day admiring the work. The statues throughout the hallways and gardens were also stunning, a really well crafted collection of pieces.

To top it off, they have a stellar gift shop which we also spent a bit too much time in. In a fitting way to end our visit, we bumped into our friend from breakfast the day before who was here to get his cowboy hat. He introduced us to his wife and said he got his hat all fitted and it would arrive in a few months time.
