One of the highlights of our short trip to Pittsburgh was the Phipps Conservatory. Located to the east of the city in Central Oakland, this impressive botanical garden offers a huge variety of plants to enjoy as you stroll around the magnificent building and gardens.
Some displays include a palm room, orchid room, desert room and a children’s discovery garden. There is also an onsite gift shop and cafe.
The Conservatory is open 9:30 am to 5:00 pm except for Fridays when it closes late at 10:00 pm. There is free parking available on-site however it seemed to fill up pretty quickly so I would recommend arriving early.
