Christmas in Australia is always quite warm yet the typical Christmas scenes in movies are people huddled around a fireplace, and crisp white snow falling outside.

I still haven’t seen snow let alone had a White Christmas, so I was interested to find out where in the world you could travel to for the best chance of seeing snow in December.

Some of the places considered to have the highest chance of Christmas flurries include:

  • Aspen or Breckenridge, Colorado
  • Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming
  • Anchorage, Alaska
  • Lake Tahoe, California/Nevada (surprisingly!)
  • Banff, Montreal or Whistler in Canada
  • Helsinki or Lapland in Finland
  • Moscow or St. Petersburg in Russia
  • Hokkaido, Japan
  • Nuuk, Greenland
  • Prauge, Czech Republic
  • Reyjavik, Iceland
  • Salzburg, Austria
  • Zermatt, Switzerland
  • Tallinn, Estonia
  • Budapest, Hungary
  • Tromso, Norway
  • Vilnius, Lithuania
  • Harbin, China
  • Seoul, Korea
  • Glasgow, UK

Where have you experienced a White Christmas?
